Apply for a work visa
Visa approval
Start working
A work visa cannot be obtained for a part-time job, so please look for a job with a full time contract, or as a temporary worker.
Points to note about a Gijinkoku Visa (work visa)
The type of work visa to be obtained in Japan depends on the "nature of the work". Here, we will explain the general work visa, the Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services visa(Gijinkoku Visa).
*Because of its long name, it is referred to as a Gijinkoku visa.
01
You can only start working after your Gijinkoku visa is approved.
02
Check to see if the job description meets the requirements for a Gijinkoku visa.
03
Do not apply with a job description that is different from the actual work to be performed.
(This will result in a false application.)
04
A Gijinkoku visa is not applicable for manual labor (simple labor).
Notes on part-time work
International students are allowed to work part-time, but there are rules for doing so. If you break the rules, your visa cannot be renewed or you will be penalized.
