Steps to obtain a Work Visa

A work visa cannot be obtained for a part-time job, so please look for a job with a full time contract, or as a temporary worker.

Points to note about a Gijinkoku Visa (work visa)

The type of work visa to be obtained in Japan depends on the "nature of the work". Here, we will explain the general work visa, the Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services visa(Gijinkoku Visa).
*Because of its long name, it is referred to as a Gijinkoku visa.

Notes on part-time work

International students are allowed to work part-time, but there are rules for doing so. If you break the rules, your visa cannot be renewed or you will be penalized.

If you are "studying abroad" for more than 3 months, you may apply for a permission of activity other than that permitted under the status of residence at the airport when you enter Japan.
